MID Devon Pony Club tetrathletes had a fabulous two days at the Tiverton PC's annual tetrathlon,  winning the team competition in the Novice Juniors and having an individual win in the senior girls and second place in the intermediate girls. The novice junior girls' team of Kim Stanton, Jessica Jeffery and Tiffany Parrott had finished the first day in third place after some steady shooting and running and an inspired swim by Tiffany that saw her manage a whole length more than her previous personal best. The cross country course at Cuckoo's Nest was quite a test for these novice riders, but they rode brilliantly to finish with three clear rounds which pushed the team up into first place. Kim did well to finish fifth individually. Charlie Rowe was in imperious form, comfortably winning the senior girls' class, while Lottie Trerise is getting back to her best form, finishing second in the intermediate girls. She produced a PB swim to have the best in her class and then rode a fine, controlled clear round cross country. In the same class Jess Mortimore's welcome return was marred by an injury to her knee on the first day; undaunted she struggled out on Sunday and rode a brave clear round. Lily and Thomas Bayley were both competing in their first tests. Lily was in a huge mini girls' class which had an staggering 82 entrants. She did brilliantly to finish in eighth place. Thomas shot the same score as his older sister and had lots of fun as he found his own way around the riding course.  l SPOONERS and West Dartmoor Pony Club juniors also came into their own at the Tiverton Tetrathlon. Will Scott won the novice junior boys' class with Katy Spry and Verity Moorhouse coming second and third in the novice junior girls. Not to be outdone, Lily Spry had a clear round in the cross country and came sixth in a huge minimus class of 82! Lucy Scott and Megan Groom completed the mini girls' team which came second in the triathlon competition. Myles and Alex Pillage continued their domination of the mini boys' triathlon by coming first and second.  All the Spooners team had personal bests in one or more discipline which bodes well for the Spooners Tetrathlon on May 18 and 19.
