Okehampton Mens' Seconds 6
Chard 0
OKEHAMPTON Hockey Club's second team travelled to Chard for their third away game in a row. Okehampton started the game quickly with a very high intensity and this quickly showed as very soon Reinier Rademaker scored the first goal.
It quickly became apparent that the fitness and speed of Okehampton was going to decide the game with the midfield of Stuart Jarvis, Simon Bourne, man of the match Ed Howard and Lewis Day along the the supporting strikers of Daan Rademaker, Sam Whalley and Jake Lloyd causing havoc for the Chard defence and allowing Reinier Rademaker to score another three goals in the first half, making it 4-0 at half time.
This trend continued in the second half with Reinier Rademaker scoring yet another goal before Jake Lloyd getting on the scoring sheet from a short corner.
The defence was solid throughout the game and gave the midfield and good platform to build off on the attack with Will Cooper, Ian Miller, Tim Morgan and the returning Mike Reynolds all putting in another solid performance leaving goalkeeper Hayden Bond little to do all game. Overall the team put in one of the best performances of the past couple of years, playing well as a unit with great communication throughout with a well deserved win.
