NORTH Tawton travelled to Plymouth to take on a much improved Old Techs side.

The North Tawton side was much changed and until the availability of players is stabilised it will continue to be a problem.

But top marks to the players who made themselves available and played with much pride despite the scoreline.

Old Techs proved how a good team without stars can play and work for each other and produce a daunting opposition.

The resolve of North Tawton players cannot be faulted. Despite this heavy defeat the team had their moments and were congratulated by the home side for their spirited performance.

This was illustrated by the veteran Fewings brothers, Malc and Joe, playing out of position but holding the team together to allow the newcomers in the form of Henry Chalcraft at prop, Ryan King on the wing and substitute Lloyd Marshall to bring their game on.

Adam Wise proved useful, switching from wing to wing forward and Andy Poolt is improving with every game. He was ably supported by Dave Quick. Despite the scoreline North Tawton are slowly beginning to turn the corner.

North Tawton are at home to Bideford Thirds at 2.30pm on Saturday. All welcome.
