TAVISTOCK is set to sparkle this Christmas with its own set of lights bought by Tavistock Business Improvement District (BID).
Lisa Piper, the BID manager, said the lights were the ones leased brand new for last year’s Tavistock display.
She negotiated a discounted price from the supplier because of problems with the display last year.
The lights cost £12,438, considerably less than the £15,000 budgeted in the BID accounts, and mean that lights no longer have to be leased each year.
‘They will save us £17,000 over the next four years,’ said Ms Piper.
