FOUR young athletes from Tavistock took part in Exeter Tri Club's annual aquathlon held at Devon and Cornwall Police Headquarters at the weekend.

Racing in the Tristar two girls (age 11-12) category were Emily Attfield and Ella Ellis. Both had excellent 200 metre swims with Ella coming out of the swim in 2.45 mins with Emily just behind her in a time of 2.51 mins.

Emily, who trains with Tavistock Athletic Club and Tavistock Swimming Club, soon overtook Ella on the run  and completed the 1,800 metres in 10.43 minutes to finish in a superb first place (total time 13.34) while Ella who trains with Kelly College Swim Squad did extremely well to finish the run in a time of 12.11 mins to finish third in a time of 14.56.

In the boys Tristar two group Jordan Channon, also from Kelly College Swim Squad. came out of the pool transition in  a time of 2.48 mins - three seconds behind the first place boy. Jordan ran the 1,880 metres in a time of 9.35mins to become the first boy home in a total time of 12.23 mins.

Tristar three (age 13-14) saw Pete Jarman of Tavistock Swim Club and TAC swim 300m in a time of 4.43 mins . He was third out of the pool but had a good 2,400 metre run leapfrogging into second place overall in a time of 22.39mins.
