THE next meeting of the Okehampton Local History Society will take place on Wednesday, June 11. The society will be given a talk by Colin Adams on the history and techniques of bells and bellringing. Mr Adams, who lives in Dawlish, is an active member of the Devon Association of Ringers. The talk, to be illustrated with slides, takes place in the Ockment Centre at 7.30pm. Meetings of the society are held on the second Wednesday of every month. New members are always welcome and anyone interested should contact the secretary, Malcolm Francis-Lang, on 01837 840158. Non- members are welcome to attend the meetings at a charge of £2 per person.
