FOUR walkers took to the tors of Bodmin Moor to say thank you and support the work of a Tavistock cancer charity.
Jose Inacio and his wife Tanya, along with Joanne Couzens and Nigel Hughes, competed the 13-mile Bodmin 10 Tors to raise money for the Triangle Cancer Support Centre. The event was organised by the Lions Club of Bodmin.
Tanya Inacio told the Times: 'We decided to include a local charity as well as a national charity to raise money for as Jose was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus in November 2013 at the age of 44.
'He has received invaluable support from the Tavistock Triangle Cancer Support Centre staff as well as fellow patients who suffer from various forms of cancer.'
Mr Inacio, who works as a HGV driver for Dairy Crest in Davidstow and his work colleague Nigel Hughes, whose own father had suffered with this same type of cancer, decided they wanted to do the walk in aid of cancer charities.
Dairy Crest and Gregory's Transport both sponsored the team by donating cheques to Cancer Research to the sum of £175 while work colleagues, family and friends helped raise £615 for the Triangle.
Tanya expressed thanks to everyone who sponsored and supported the team and added that Jose was doing really well and is hopefully in remission.
