Sidmouth Town U16s 7

Okehampton Argyle U16s 2

OKEHAMPTON were determined to play beautiful football from the start, and it resulted in an early goal from Will Eddy.

Argyle took a little time to adjust to their new tactics; a few passes were misplaced and Sidmouth reached five by half-time.

An outstanding performance by Carter in goal allowed the outfield to develop the system.

After an encouraging team talk at half-time, there followed a display of football, the quality of which has not been produced by Okehampton this season.

Even with several key players missing, the boys kept their concentration and raised their game, keeping Sidmouth on the back-foot. They created several chances and frustrated Sidmouth?s management by keeping most of the possession.

Okehampton dominated for 30 minutes, then Sidmouth scored from what was their only chance. Undeterred, Okehampton continued to develop their game, and were rewarded when Morgan drilled the ball home, following a smooth passing move which also involved Carter, Stepto, Griffiths and Leach.

Man of the match: Carter.

This Saturday home to Broadmeadow.
