VOLUNTEERS were busy packing donated goods recently to help fill and send off a West Devon charity's container to an underprivileged country in Africa.
The 40ft container was the fifth of the year sent to various destinations by Operation Sunshine, which aims to help the lives of poor people in other countries.
The recent container was sent to Zimbabwe and was filled with a huge variety of donations, including 43 school tables, 200 stackable chairs, clothing and dried foods.
Operation Sunshine, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, receives donations from across West Devon.
South West area organiser of the charity Ann Tregarthen said the generosity of the public was 'amazing'.
Operation Sunshine is now starting to fill its next container to be shipped out on November 26 to Zambia.
Anyone who wishes to donate to Operation Sunshine's next container should email [email protected]">[email protected] or call Ann Tregarthen on 01822 614343.
