'THE happy go lucky life story of Stanley Holloway: The Monologues: The Man: The Music will be staged at The Plough, Torrington this January. From his early frolics with the concert party group 'The Co-optimists' through his extraordinary successes in the now legendary Ealing comedies like 'The Lavender Hill Mob' to the Broadway classic 'My Fair Lady', Stanley's endearing and unique talent led him ever upwards to rub shoulders with the cream of showbiz such as Crosby, Coward, Chevalier, Olivier, Groucho Marx, and Audrey Hepburn. Dave Sealey, sometimes as narrator, sometimes as the man himself, takes us through Stanley's roller coaster ride to fame, meeting on the way such old friends as Sam Small (Pick 'oop thy musket) and Albert Ramsbottom (Yon lion's et Albert) and classic monologues such as 'My word you do look queer'. Wallow in the nostalgia — come and reminisce at the Plough on Friday January 19 at 2pm and 8pm. Telephone Box Office on 01805 624624.
