A NEW website has been set up for people who want to enjoy the countryside of the Tamar and Lynher valleys through walking.
Fed up with the price of fuel, Gunnislake resident Kate Latham decided she was going to abandon the car and enjoy the pleasures of her own patch on foot.
She has put together 35 walks of varying lengths, all within the boundaries of the orange Ordnance Survey map 108 Lower Tamar Valley and Plymouth (Tavistock and Callington) which can be accessed via the website designed by a company in Calstock: http://www.exploringexplorer108.co.uk">www.exploringexplorer108.co.uk
'I decided I was really going to get to know my area and I have had the best fun doing it,' she said. 'I have seen places that I would never have known about otherwise.'
She said the walks were not challenging and people did not need loads of kit. Some were possible with a buggy. The timescales were to help people decide whether the walk might fit into their day.
