CLOSED because of the actions of irresponsible dog owners, Sylvia?s Meadow at St Ann?s Chapel is reopening to the public during June so people can enjoy the wonderful orchid display. One of the most important wildflower meadows in the country, the site will be open on Wednesdays and Sundays between 10am and 5pm. Sylvia?s Meadow was closed earlier this year because some local dog owners ignored the requests to place dogs on leads and keep to the paths, resulting in flowers being trampled. Cornwall Wildlife Trust had previously allowed public access all year round. Such is the rich array of wildflowers that the meadow has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It includes common and heath spotted orchids.
