A TOTAL of 45 personal best times, some outstanding, were logged overall by Tavistock Swimming Club members at the first weekend of the City of Plymouth Championships against swimmers from Dinnaton, Devonport Royal, Kelly College and RNRM. Tavistock came home with the Girls? 100m Freestyle Championship Trophy, which was awarded to Laura Radgick in the Championship Final, with Laura Aspen in 4th place. Laura Radgick also came 2nd in the 100m Butterfly Final with Laura Aspen in 3rd place. Boys? captain Chris Ralph won the 100m Breaststroke Championship Final in a personal best time with Michael Best, who qualified for the final in a personal best time, in 3rd place. Chris Ralph and Kirsty Best took both the Boys and Girls 100m Individual Medley Championship Final respectively. The 100m Backstroke Championship Final saw Michael Best swim into 5th place. Best swims were Tom Grennan-Cruise 11 yrs 100m Backstroke, Ross Williams 14 yrs 100m Fly, Rebecca Tansey 11yrs 200m Breaststroke, Catriona Smith 13 yrs 200m Fly, Alice Warnett 14 years 200m Individual Medley, Amy Warnett 16 yrs 100m Individual Medley, Rebecca Windemer 12 yrs 200m Fly, Joshua Stephens 12 yrs 400m Freestyle. In addition to the superb count of personal best times and 4 Championship wins, a total of 40 Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were awarded to the Tavistock swimmers.
