ANYONE who grew up in the Tamar Valley and has stories to share is invited to a community event next month.
The Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) invites everyone with memories of the area to attend 'Growing up in the Tamar Valley — Memory Swap' where people can share memories and perhaps meet a familiar face.
The AONB has teamed up with Bere Community Village Shop and Café, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, to hold the event, which will be from 10am to midday on Saturday, February 14 at Bere Ferrers Church Hall.
The stories, anecdotes and reminiscences from the day will help the AONB team to produce some audio work later this year, telling the tales of life in the valley.
Over the last few years the AONB has undertaken work to record and archive some of the individual memories of people living in the valley.
For more information or if you cannot make the event but would still like to share your stories, call Jemma Sharman on 01579 351904 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
