Surely it wasn?t that wet, wet, wet?

SO Tavistock had 70.85 inches of rain last year? (Times, January 9). This is very curious as we in Coryton (six miles north) registered only 56.3 inches, which was well above normal. Yet Bude recorded only 40.72 inches, again well above their average.

I find it hard to believe that Tavistock is that much wetter. Princetown, maybe, but not Tavistock, surely?
