THIS friendly opened with strong attacking hockey from Tavistock's Susannah Boulle, Kath Collar, Laura Armstrong and Jo Gaspar.
Kath Collar scored the first goal with a hefty strike at the keeper. Zoe Viggers had a good game through midfield and made some good linking movements with Gaspar and Miller.
Fiona Dunn and Babs Horton kept the opposition at bay and when it appeared as if they might break on the halfway line Sandra Collar intercepted the ball every time to give it to a goal hungry Kath Collar or Boulle.
Lisa Butler scored the second through watching the rebound ball. A short corner was awarded against Tavistock and it was Gill Court —who played for the opposition as they were short — who scored their only goal for them!
Miller ran through the D, picked up a good ball from Gaspar, and scored the third. Boulle was hungry for a goal and despite not scoring was the main instigator of many.
Kath Collar scored her third, and the fourth came from a running Armstrong who was able to take on several opponents, retain possession and score.
At half-time the score was 5-1 to Tavistock. Horton was quick to feed the ball up the pitch in the second half and a good ball from Boulle allowed Armstrong to score the sixth for Tavistock. Dunn sat strong at the back, drove the ball up the pitch and linked with Viggers and Gaspar.
Kath Collar was on top form and a strong strike across the D from Gaspar claimed her third of the match.
Armstrong scored again, taking the score to 8-1. Miller struck at the keeper who rebound it and Gaspar was quick to secure the rebound and strike it hard at the keeper.
Kath Collar scored the final goal.
