COMMUNITY spirit is alive and thriving in Okehampton as we proved last Friday. As part of our ongoing charity fundraising we held a sale and draw at Somerfield for Muscular Dystrophy.
Many local businesses supported us, including: Donalds, Pk Electronics, Chasteys, Bazaar, Warehouse, Cinnabar, Beanfeast, The Fruit Shop, Endacotts, Sweet Success and the Victorian Pantry.
The customers gave generously and all the staff provided the goods for the sale and bought items.
It was a thoroughly good day. Many customers brought us items to sell and as a community effort we raised £600 ongoing.
I must not forget to mention the staff of Somerfield for all their support and for giving up their free time so generously, Megan Luxton, Angie Cook and Pat Dray, to Teresa Luffingham for all the collecting.
To each and every one of you thanks! It would not have been possible without you all. A mention must go to Phare?s sister in law for the amazing chocolate creations.
