IT has been another hugely successful year for junior rugby in Okehampton and North Tawton with in excess of 100 junior players registered and some outstanding talent on display each week. Okehampton/North Tawton junior rugby teams have now played their last matches of the year, and are looking forward to continued success on the field next year. At the conclusion of the matches on Sunday, December 19, Wiz Francis and her social committee organised a highly successful draw and auction which raised almost £1,000. In a packed clubhouse and in keeping with the festive spirit, mulled wine and mince pies were enjoyed by parents from both the home teams and guests Exeter who very kindly contributed to the day. An old friend of Okehampton and someone who is prepared to help the junior section at every opportunity, Julian White, sponsored some tremendous auction items including England training shirts, fleeces and a ball signed by his Leicester Tigers? teammates. The club wish Julian well for what will be a very important year for Leicester and England in 2005. There was also an outstanding list of draw prizes ? and a huge thanks must go to all those generous people who contributed from within the local community and beyond. The junior section committee would like to thank all the players, parents and followers for their continued support.
