GULWORTHY Garden Fete, held recently for Gulworthy church and parish hall roof appeal, raised a magnificent £1,600.

Thanks have been expressed to everyone involved in the event, and the popular dog show. Several children and adults showed their pets in classes.

The cup for the best child handler was presented to Ella Spicer with her Jack Russell terrier.

Many thanks to Pat Kelly, Mary-Ann Furze, Janice Burgoyne and Rosie Steer and family for their hard work.

Thanks are expressed to Guy Massey for showing people to the dog show, announcing events and calling the winners at the grand draw.

The organising committee would like to pay tribute to the sponsors and businesses who donated prizes for the grand draw — Milemead Fisheries, The Chip Shop Inn, Blacksmith's Arms, Woodovis Caravan Park, The Coach House Inn, Downings Butcher, Carrs Garage and Castle Vet Group.

Upcoming events are a hog roast on August 22 and Bingo on September 16.
