STUDENTS will be strutting their stuff down the catwalk next week, donning clothes from St Luke's Hospice shop and raising money towards Tavistock College's Solar Schools project. The fashion show has been organised by the key stage three PTA at the college, to help raise funds towards the project, which will see solar panels attached to the school roof, as part of its year of fundraising for the £20,000 needed. For the show, students will be modelling various outfits sourced from the St Luke's Hospice shop in Tavistock. After the show there will be an opportunity to purchase the outfits as well as other goods from St Luke's. The Cutting Company hair salon in Yelverton will be doing the models' hair and make-up for the event as well as holding a stall doing hair demonstrations and offering discounts. Other stalls will include information on the Solar Schools project, and a stand giving details of nursing as a career among a number of others. Chair of the key stage three PTA Jane Beard said: 'A tremendous response has been received from everyone involved, the students especially have volunteered in every capacity, wanting to be involved from front of house to backstage as well as entertaining the guests with music from the college jazz band. 'It should be a very entertaining evening with some amusing moments to look forward to.' The fashion show will take place on Friday, April 25 at 7pm at Tavistock College. Tickets can be purchased for £5, which includes a glass of wine, from the college reception or from Odds and Suds in Duke Street.
