THE recent A-level and GCSE art and photography exhibition held from June 22 to 24 at Tavistock College was a resounding success.

A fantastic array of work was on display and the hard work and determination by students was apparent in the quality and range of work exhibited.

The exhibition was the culmination of two years' work by A-level and GCSE students, many of whom turned up to celebrate the opening of the event with friends or parents.

It was also attended by the mayor and mayoress of West Devon, Donald and Mary Horn.

One A-level student was surprised on the evening when she was asked if she would produce a piece of artwork for one of the guests — she is now on her way to doing her first commission as an artist.

Thanks were expressed to all the dedicated staff and students involved in putting up the exhibition.
