Tavistock U11s 26 Plymstock U11s 0 TAVISTOCK had another good game at the weekend continuing their good run of form after previous victorys against Crediton and last weekend's draw against Bristol side Thornbury. Very windy conditions meant that strong running and set piece play were likely to decide the outcome of this game rather than handling. The home side started well with front row Dan Dawes breaking from the back of a ruck and through the Plymstock defence to score. The forwards again provided an excellent scrummage platform that gave the backs good positions to attack from. Fly half Josh Birch was next to score as he jinked his way around the defence for a good try. Plymstock came close to scoring as they worked the ball well in the tight, driving over the line only for the ball to be held up by last ditch Tavy defence. Just before the end of the first half Dawes finished a good passing sequence with another try. In the second hald Tavistock were forced onto the back foot as Plymstock put everything into trying to get back into the game. The home defence absorbed the pressure and worked up the field to within striking distance. Aaron Dobie at scrum half went for the line from a line out and despite being tackled on the line, this wasn't enough to stop him grounding the ball.
