WITH only a few days to go before their twilight stroll this coming Sunday, the Lions Club of Tavistock are confident of a good turnout for this unique event, which is being organised to raise money for Children's Hospice South West.

The stroll will start at Tavistock Football Club in Crowndale Road, go through Bishopsmead and Tiddybrook, onto the new footpath at Anderton Lane and then through the recently opened tunnel and over Gem Bridge, returning using the same route. The whole walk is just over four miles so should only take a couple of hours and the Lions are particularly hoping that this will appeal to families. There will be glow sticks provided free for children and torches available for a small charge. There will be checkpoints and stickers to collect along the way with a prize of a small fluffy teddy bear for each child with a full set of stickers.

So everybody is invited to go along to the football club between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday, October 28 — the day the clocks change —and join in the fun and enjoy being some of the first to walk the tunnel and the bridge in the twilight in aid of a great cause.

All the money raised will go to the Hospice thanks to generous sponsorship from Kountry Kit in Tavistock and help from Tavistock Community Football Club. Walkers will be asked for a donation of £5 for adults over 16, £2 for children aged 5 and over — below 5s are free! Registration forms are available from Kountry Kit, the Times office or the Children's Hospice South West shop in Tavistock or just go along on the day to Tavistock Football Club.
