Tavistock Colts 38 Tiverton Colts 5 TAVISTOCK put in one of their best displays of the season and took the early with a try by Ian Rooke, storming through from full back. This was soon followed by a James Kaminski try to which he added a second before half time. Tiverton responded to score a clever try from a set scrum, when the scrum half spotted a blind side gap and darted over from five metres out. Tavistock centre Dan Smith also touched down, to make the half time score 26-5 to Tavistock. Tiverton had more aggression in the second half, but two further tries from Kaminski and skipper Mark Wheatley, without response from the visitors, sealed the game. Kaminski?s hat-trick of tries almost became four as he wove his way at speed through the length of the pitch, only to miss Tom Vanstone narrowly with an offload out of the tackle, with the posts beckoning for a glorious try. Mark Wheatley commanded the lineout and new faces Wayne Downham and Roger Taylor in the second row worked well with a muscular display. Despite these other individual performances, the man of the match award went to hooker Will Branfield, who was involved in almost everything during the game?s 70 minutes, taking short lineout ball, scavenging loose ball and setting up Dan Smith?s try. Tom Vanstone hit four conversions.
