ON a breezy Saturday at Okehampton Golf Club 116 competitors fought it out for the honour of winning the Burd Medal for the best scratch score and the McCleod Cup for the best net score. Winner of the Burd Medal and division one was Steve Hill with a gross 72. Runner-up in division one was Phil Martin with a gross 75, net 64, and third was Simon Gibbons with a net 65. Division two was won by Bob Barrett with a net 65 on the back nine from Andy Rooker, who also had a 65. Third was Alan Mann with 66. The winner of division three and also the McCleod Cup was Kevin Harding with a net 62. Runner-up was Sid Sanders with a net 63; in third place Graham Milford with a net 64.
