TWO ten-year-old girls from Chagford walked two Dartmoor hills last weekend to raise funds for the tsunami aid appeal. Hazel Scott and Zsa Zsa Shea set off from the square in Chagford on Saturday, morning on a seven-mile route taking in Meldon Hill and Nattadon Hills. The girls had collected sponsorship throughout the week and raised a total of around £180. They have decided to share the funds raised between the Disasters Emergency Committee which co-ordinated immediate aid relief, and the more long-term assistance of sponsoring a child living in one of the affected areas. The idea of the sponsored walk was entirely the girls? own idea, as they felt they wanted to do something to help the people whose lives were devastated by the disaster.
