FOR the first time ever, the Ramblers' Festival of Winter Walks starts on Christmas Eve, giving people ten whole days of free festive walking opportunities.
Whether it's a short Boxing Day amble or a longer New Year's Day hike to kick-start those New Year's resolutions, there will be a walk to suit everyone.
Tavistock Ramblers are taking part in this festival, as they have done for many years.
Interested people are welcome to join them on Wednesday December 28 for an eight-mile walk on Dartmoor tracks and starting from the Fox and Hounds near Bridestowe.
On Sunday January 1 you can start the year off with another eight-mile Dartmoor walk, starting at Two Bridges.
