OKEHAMPTON Fairplace Church is to present a performance of Sir John Stainer's 'The Crucifixion' at the church.
The Crucifixion, composed by Stainer in 1887, is a setting for tenor and baritone soloists, choir and organ of a text selected from the New Testament by the Rev J Sparrow-Simpson.
The Fairplace Church choir will be augmented by visiting choir members, and will be joined by soloists Roger Bowden, tenor, David England, baritone and John Holland, organ.
The performance at Fairplace Church is on Good Friday, April 13 at 7.30pm. Programmes £2 (students £1) from church members or at the door.
Proceeds are for the church refurbishment fund.
