THE second round of the National Arena League on November 12 saw the Tavistock Swimming Club squad (pictured left) travel to Hutton Moor in Weston-Super-Mare.
It was always going to be a tough round as the club were facing big opposition in the form of Swindon Dolphins and Barnstaple.
However the team managed to swim their way to fifth position, beating Somerset Cheetahs B and Caerphilly.
First places were hard to come by but Kirsty Best won the ladies open 100m breaststroke and Kieran Rookes won the 15/u 100m breaststroke, with several other swimmers achieving close second places.
Tavistock Swimming Club now lie in 13th position in division two and will swim in the middle gala for the final round — a great achievement in itself!
