EGG and spoon races will be held at Cotehele on Easter Monday as part of a ten-day Easter Eggstravaganza planned at the National Trust property during the school holidays.

The events begin on Good Friday and last for four days.

From tomorrow (Friday) until Monday, April 1, children can take part in an Easter egg trail sponsored by Cadbury.

The trails run from 11am until 4pm each day and cost £2 per child — normal admission charges apply.

On Monday, there will also be a series of age-specific egg and spoon races in the Mother Orchard.

Participants are asked to bring a spoon and to be prepared for plenty of prizes and a lot of giggles.

Children will be able to have their faces painted on the Sunday and Monday and those wearing an Easter hat will enjoy free entry.

From Tuesday, April 2 until Sunday, April 14, there will be an alternative trail from reception near the house, through the woods and finishing at Cotehele Mill.

Attendees will hunt for clues along the way and decipher the secret word to claim a prize at the mill.

This event is £2 per child and normal admission prices do not apply unless visiting the house or mill.
