OKEHAMPTON men's hockey team produced a spirited performance to draw in the east league match before the mid-season break.
There was little to choose between the sides early on with both having chances to score.
OPMs broke the deadlock with a well taken goal late in the half. However, Okehampton bounced straight back and attacked down the right wing. Sam Beaford's cross was neatly tapped in by Steve Sage on the far post.
Both sides had to work hard to create space in a tight second half. Okehampton perhaps had the better of the play, but were unable to convert pressure into goals.
OPMs went back into the lead with a well taken breakaway goal. This spurred Okehampton into action and Miles Harris equalised from a short corner moments later.
Man of the match Andrew Carter worked tirelessly in midfield for Okehampton and it was a gutsy team performance.
League games resume in January, but this week's friendly game is away against East Devon.
