A BIG thank you to the local police for entertaining the Tavy Specials in a close fought match at Tavistock Sports Centre.

The quality of football was good from both sides and after a 7-7 draw the specials won on penalties. Superintendent Brookshaw missed his penalty but handed out some lovely certificates afterwards at the Tavy Club where refreshments were kindly laid on by Sally Perkins.

The Specials were ably coached on the day by Carl Cudmore. A great police/public bonding day was had by all.

I WOULD like to thank all the public and traders that attended the fifth Tavistock Vintage and Textile Fair on August 25.

Another successful fair meant over 500 people attended and raised £365 on the door for TASS in donations.

Thanks to all the staff at the town hall, and the help from all local shops and the pannier market for displaying our flyers.

The next fair is on Saturday, November 3 at the same venue.

ACTION for Children held a street collection in Tavistock and Morrisons store on September 7. We raised £540.30.
