THE world?s only Spode china showroom is now based in West Devon, after owners Geoff and Pam Hodgkinson decided to concentrate their business in Hatherleigh. The couple opened the shop selling new Spode china in the town 18 months ago to complement their original shop in Hampshire. However, they recently decided to relocate the business and move their extensive fine china collection to the Tussie Mussie shop in Bridge Street, Hatherleigh. For the last six years, the couple have been shipping and exporting the china all over the world from their base in Hampshire, this side of the business will now also operate from Hatherleigh. The pottery is named after creator Josiah Spode and is still made on the same factory site in Stoke on Trent as it was 200 years ago. Pam Hodgkinson is pctured with some of the prized china.
