South Zeal Utd . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3

Crescent . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2

ZEAL managed to win the points on Saturday but had to come from two one down to beat a strong Crescent side.

Zeal could have been three or four up in the first 30 minutes as Tom Reilly and Harley Cann were thwarted time and again by the Crescent keeper who was having an excellent game. Zeal did take the lead when Tom Reilly broke down the left and scored with a great finish from the edge of the penalty area.

Just as it seemed that Zeal would now go on and win the game easily Crescent equalised from the penalty spot when Lee Gilbert brought down one of their forwards in the penalty area.Cresent now seemed to play with more confidence and took the lead when after a ball was cleared from a corner a good cross was hit in and glanced home by a Cresent striker.

Zeal took another 20 minutes of the second half to equalise when Harley Cann scored with a headeer from a Steve Pillivant throw in.Zeal now went for the winner and it came 5 minutes later when Reg Wonnacott guided a superb header into the Crescent net from a Garry Smith corner to give Zeal all three points.

This Saturday away to University 2.30 pm KO.
