THE community of Sydenham Damerel ran a soup lunch in aid of the ROC Welcome Clubs at Sydenham Damerel Methodist Church Hall last month.

ROC would like to thank all those who ran and supported the lunch which raised more than £250 in aid of the ROC Welcome Clubs in Tavistock. Particular thanks to Sarah, Cherry, Jane, Trudi and Liz who coordinated the lunch.

The ROC Welcome Clubs are held three times each week in Tavistock. They used to be run by Mencap until July of last year when ROC was asked to step in and carry on the good work.

These clubs provide an opportunity for adults with a learning disability to drop in and meet friends, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, chat with people they know and to enjoy various activities, crafts and games in a safe and supportive environment.

ROC Welcome Clubs provide support for more than 50 adults with learning disabilities in the area.
