DEVON Wheels 2 Work and West Devon Borough Council Connect have just completed the first week of the 2009 Community Outreach Programme — bringing local services to rural communities throughout the county.
The surgeries were deemed a 'huge success' and raised the profile of both Devon Wheels 2 Work and West Devon Connect.
Devon Wheels 2 Work is a not-for-profit company which offers two-wheeled transport to people in rural communties throughout Devon, thanks to funding from Devon County Council and various other organisations.
Max Jowett, of Devon Wheels 2 Work, which is based at Halwill Junction, said: 'It was a really busy month for Devon Wheels 2 Work.
'Our new bikes are proving to be very popular — at 120mpg our machines make your money go a long way. The prize draw to win a new scooter is also a popular attraction.
'We would like to thank West Devon Borough Council Connect for arranging the programme.'
Devon Wheels 2 Work is continuing to provide transport solutions to many people in the county.
One happy beneficiary said: 'My own transport was no good, but after phoning Devon Wheels 2 Work my transport worries ended and I could lay my mind only on the stress of lambing 2,000 sheep. I would like to thank Devon Wheels 2 Work for their prompt action and kindness.'
