DRIVERS flocking onto Dartmoor to enjoy the wintry conditions have been warned by Dartmoor National Park Authority not to block roads and farm gates.

There are fears that careless parking could hamper the emergency services and prevent access to animals needing extra feed in the freezing conditions.

Owners of 4x4s have been reminded that going off-road is illegal after damage was inflicted at a number of sites through drivers wanting to test their machines' limits.

Last weekend routes across the moor attracted thousands of extra visitors seeking out the best spots for tobogganing and snowboarding. As a result some places almost became no-go areas with parked vehicles blocking the roads.
