SUPER slimmers from West Devon are taking part in a 'record breaking' birthday party to celebrate Slimming World's 40th anniversary.
More than 500,000 people across the UK are expected to attend special birthday party events at Slimming World groups around the country between Monday, September 28 and Saturday, October 3, in what is hoped will become the world's biggest birthday party to set a Guinness world record.
Members of the Tavistock Slimming World group are joining in by hosting their own 1969-themed celebration.
They will don 60s themed fancy dress, enjoy music from the era, and tuck into healthier versions of their favourite party food and drink.
Slimming World consultant Tracy Horton, who runs the Tavistock group, is inviting anyone who would like to find out more about Slimming World's hunger-busting weight loss plan to come along to the party on Thursday, October 1 at 10am, noon, 4.30pm or 6.30pm at the United Reformed Church in Tavistock.
She said: 'We've been celebrating Slimming World's Ruby year since January with members doing all sorts of activity — walking, running, swimming and cycling together for charity as part of Slimming World's 40 Miles for SMILES challenge, doing a 40-day Slimathon, and much more.'
