Paignton Colts 3 Tavistock Colts 33 TAVISTOCK collected three league points after a superb performance from the whole team. Front rows Child, Kerswill and Vince bullied the front row winning plenty of first phase ball and driving the Paignton scrum back many times. New centre pairing of Goodspeed and Derges were too powerful in attack and defence and set up many opportunities. The first try came from winger Shutler after quick hands from all threes. Centre Goodspeed followed up soon after with another try for a half time score of 12-0. As the Paignton side tired after half time, Tavistock took advantage and started winning ball all over the park allowing scrum half Thompson to spray quick ball all over and set up some great running moves. Skipper Vanstone scored two fine tries and No 8 Lawrence Millett touched down for a superb individual try from his own half after being put away by Bolt to power through several tackles at speed to touch down under the posts. Although Vanstone missed his first conversion attempt he coolly slotted the next four for a personal tally of 18 points. Paignton?s only score came from a penalty under the posts for offside.
