A PAIR of sisters from Lamerton made the brave decision to have their long hair cut off in aid of charity.

Grayce and Milly Bolgiana had their locks chopped in order to benefit The Little Princess Trust — a charity with a mission to supply real-hair wigs to children suffering with cancer and other conditions which result in hair loss.

Ten-year-old Grayce had 13ins of her hair cut while little sister Milly, 9, had 10ins chopped off.

They visited Cool Cuts salon in Plymouth where hairdresser and family friend Sam Stewartson snipped their long blonde barnets.

The girls, who both attend Lamerton Primary School, said they were pleased with their new shorter hair even though it felt ‘a bit weird’ being unable to tie it up.

The Little Princess Trust only asks for hair donations but the sisters went that one step further and managed to raise around £150 which will all go to the trust.

‘I am bursting with pride,’ said mum Sarah Bolgiani.

‘Grayce and Milly heard about The Little Princess Trust from one of their friends and both said they wanted to cut off their hair to help.

‘The made the decision all by themselves because they wanted to help other children.

‘So far they have raised £147 for the charity but there are still some donations to come from a few people so have kept their just giving page open.

‘We would like to thank Cool Cuts for giving the girls lovely new bobs. And we would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated money and supported Milly and Grayce.’
