THE Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton on July 4 celebrates the 25th anniversary of the day it opened its doors to the public. To mark the date, from July 1 there will be an exhibition of flags and banners ? these will fly inside the museum and in the courtyard. The museum is looking for flags that represent the countries of the world or Okehampton organisations. If you have any that could be borrowed please get in touch with them. On June 27 there is to be another workshop at the museum for all ages, making flags and banner that will become part of the exhibition. This is an opportunity for people of all ages to come and have a fun day. Strings of bunting using imprints of vistors and local people?s hands will be hung all around the courtyard. On Saturday July 1 and Saturday July 8 there will be an opportunity for Okehampton people to come along and bring their photographic collections. If you have any photographs the museum would like to hear from you .They will be displayed together with some from the museum?s archive. On July 8 the research room will be open to enable Okehampton residents and any visitors who may have a lcoal family connection to look into their family histories. July 1, 4 and 8 will be ?Open Days? at the museum and there will be no admission charge.
