SEVEN teams — from Devon (2), Somerset (2), Cornwall (2)and Dorset (1) — competed at The Grange, Okehampton, on Saturday for the right to be called South Western Area champions.

Devon A, represented by Olivia Sanford -Wood (Montego Bay), Chloe Jarman (Oakley Vale Dillys), Rebecca Symonds, (Godley Amerino), and Oliver Tucker, (Mac),were the only team to finish on zero faults taking the title outright. Four teams, finished on four faults, and after an exciting jump off Cornwall B (Amy Merrell, Joseph Vincent, Lauren Blunsden and Lara Hopkins), finished second with Cornwall A (Jack Stockdale, Lucy Collinge, Molly Trethewey and Kayla Setford) finished third.

The event, which was part of the BSJA junior show jumping card, and the idea of top Devon coach Mandy Frost, was sponsored by Devon and Somerset based Solicitors Everys was a great success. Organisers hope it will become an BJSA circuit event.
