MORE than £2,000 was raised from the recent Gulworthy Fete and Dog Show.

The mayor and mayoress of West Devon, Bill and Christine Cann, opened the event.

The dog show was sponsored by David Jones from the Castle Veterinary Group. Entries were up on the last show with the cup for most points going to Jenny Simmons with Charlie.

Gulworthy Parish Hall Committee and St Paul's Church PCC expressed thanks to Rosie and John Steer for the use of their home at Hele Farm for the event, and to all who gave their time and effort towards making it a success.

The £2,300 raised will be split between the parish hall and St Paul's Church, both in need of renovation.
