THE governors of Horrabridge Community Primary School have drawn up a shortlist of candidates for the post of headteacher. The school was delighted with the number and quality of applications and interviews are set to take place this month. The two days of activities will include a tour of the school, meeting the staff and pupils, management and teaching activities and a presentation to parents, governors and the local community. The governors are optimistic about making an appointment. They say they will only appoint a candidate of the highest calibre and one whom they are confident will continue to take the school forward. The new headteacher will take up the post in September 2005, replacing acting headteacher John Meehan who has led the school since the retirement of Martin Iddon last autumn.
