FOURTEEN householders and three businesses have agreed to open their doors and share their energy saving measures during Transition Tavistock's open homes weekend on September 13 and 14. This will provide an opportunity for visitors to see what others have done and discuss the lessons learned with the householders. There will be an opportunity to see a new build with minute energy bills in the Bere Peninsula and a range of modern and older properties with various renovations, insulation and renewable energy installations, and an opportunity to talk to householders who have dealt with a range of problems, including how to deal with damp in an older home. The award-winning Woodovis Park is allowing people behind the scenes to see the progress at the old Jam Factory and more. The open homes programme is now available on the website at http://www.transitiontavistock.org.uk">www.transitiontavistock.org.uk with details of each home open during the weekend. For anyone who does not have transport or would like to visit the homes with others, they can join the walking tour of Tavistock or one of the bus tours. Booking forms are available on the website or call 07969 569444 or email [email protected]">[email protected] Programmes will also be available in Tavistock Library.
