THE annual Tavistock Church Schools Federation Summer Fair, being held tomorrow (Friday) will boast a range of stalls from local producers and a hog roast as well as involving children in a 'bake off' competition.
All the school children have been encouraged to bake a cake for judging by Tavistock's very own Mary Berry, Lisa Dashper of 'Sugar Sweet Cakes'.
Lisa will be judging categories such as 'funniest cake', best 'traditional cake', 'most creative' and 'most unusual' cake.
There will also be lots of fun and games for the children, including a bouncy castle, lucky dips, crafts, a tombola and 'bric-a-brac' stalls aimed specifically at children.
The summer fair, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm, will also have a summer draw which will help to raise funds for extra curriculum events and facilities for both schools.
This year, traders and local businesses have been particularly generous with a top draw prize being an overnight stay for two at the Moorland Garden Hotel.
Other prizes include tickets for Trethorne, Crealy and family entry tickets to National Trust properties.
PTA chair Lisa Luveniyali said: 'This annual summer fair is one of the most popular events we have in our action-packed PTA calendar.
'Last year the weather was less than kind to us, but we've ordered a fun packed summer's day so are confident everyone attending will have a great time. All our PTA events all help raise essential funds for both the schools.'
Entry to the summer fair costs £1 for adults, and children go free.
