THERE will be plenty of messing about in boats at Roadford Lake this bank holiday weekend — and some serious racing going on.

The annual Goodacre Cup sailing regatta takes place over the three days and this year, there will also be a vintage boats rally in which 50 to 100 boats will be taking part.

Boats of various classes will compete over the three days and the first race will be at 1pm on Saturday.

Prizegiving takes place at 2.30pm on bank holiday Monday.

Many of the vintage boats have already arrived for the weekend's events which include a hog roast and band on the Sunday night.

The majority of boats will be 30 to 40 years old.
