THE sights and sounds of autumn were enjoyed by a group of senior citizens during a special walk around Roadford Lake near Lewdown recently.

The walk was one of a series taking place every Friday throughout October, aimed specifically at pensioners.

The rambles have been organised by education officer Liz Eagle, of South West Lakes Trust, which manages Roadford Lake.

Liz said: ?We identified the age of twigs fallen from branches, the differing types of lichen found on branches and the various markings animals leave.?

The circular walk to the cob shelter on the banks of the lake lasted just over an hour.

Following the walk, the group enjoyed lunch at the tea room, where a pensioners? lunch club meets each Friday.
