TAVISTOCK Tennis Club results of round seven in the Plymouth and District Tennis League continue to be encouraging for the seniors, as well as the juniors.
The team captains have been particularly impressed with the maturity and ability that Sarah Lucas, Owen Drage, Josh Evans and Luke Wakeley, still juniors, have brought to the senior teams.

Juniors
Tavistock A (Phil Snell, Jamie Stevens and Luke Wakeley) v Plympton A. Lost 25-50.
Tavistock B (Owen Drage, Max Williams and David Foreshaw) v Plympton C. Won 36-12. Owen played an aggressive singles match with some long and powerful rallies, while David won his singles with aggressive serving, a powerful forehand and exploiting the opponents weak back hand. Max played in both doubles matches and hit some great winners.
Tavistock C (Ashley Clarke, Josh Stevens and Jamie Stevens) v Looe. Lost 53-15.
Tavistock D (George Rodgers, Charlie Hubbard and Jack Coiley) v Tavistock E. (Rufus Gold, Rory Forbes and Bertie Rodgers). Won 25-51. Rufus and Rory won their singles games. Rufus and Bertie won their doubles game and Charlie and Jack drew theirs.
Friendly Matches
Tavistock ( Barbara and Rod Watson, Maggie Sharras and Malcolm Bower) v Kelly College (home) A draw of 4-4 was agreed, because, with Tavistock leading 4-3, one of the Kelly players had to go before completing the final set which they were likely to win. Kelly fielded one adult and three juniors who played very well.
Tavistock (Geoff and Lorraine Orton, Jackie Kates and Paul Jackson) v Mortonhampstead (home) lost 2-6.
Because Moretonhampstead were one player short, Club member Alice Anstee sportingly played for the opposition to avoid the match being cancelled.
