WITH the new hockey season under way Tavistock travelled to East Devon for a friendly match. Tavistock having beaten Okehampton previously wanted to keep the momentum going.
East Devon started the better of the two teams and scored within the first 10 minutes of the game, but it was not long before Tavistock equalised and then took the lead, with goals from Frampton and Barrett Jnr.
East Devon came back into the game and just before half time levelled the score.
Tavistock started the second half well after a positive team talk from Capt. Cooley. The Tavistock forwards played well and passed the ball quickly creating space for scoring opportunities. East Devon scored a third but with goals from Cowen Snr, Mackintosh and A Holland this would prove too much for the home side.
The Tavistock defence prevented East Devon from having many shots on target.
